Synopsis

Hotel Rigopiano, 1,234 meters above sea level. The forty guests of the hotel are anxiously waiting in the hall to be able to return home, worried about the three violent earthquakes that shook Abruzzo. Suddenly the avalanche arrives, envelops the 4-storey reinforced concrete structure, uproots it from its foundations, rotates it on itself and then deposits it tens of meters further downstream. Most of those present die instantly. The eleven survivors are trapped under five meters of snow and ice. For them begins a nightmare that will last sixty-two interminable hours. This documentary is the story of those hours, poised between hope and despair.
