EcoMuvi Certifies Go Go Around Italy
We are green.
Intergea launches a new transparency pathway on environmental impact.
The second season of Go Go Around Italy, produced by Intergea and Armosia Italia, with the support of Rai Kids and the contribution of the Apulia Film Fund of Apulia Film Commission and Regione Puglia (PR Puglia FESR‑FSE+ 2021–2027), has been officially certified under the EcoMuvi protocol. The first season had already obtained the same certification, and the new production cycle further strengthens the monitoring and reporting framework.

EcoMuvi
GREEN protocol
EcoMuvi provides a set of operational standards for reducing and tracking environmental impact across energy use, waste management, mobility, and office operations.
Intergea is now extending this framework beyond internal compliance, turning it into a public accountability tool.
How narrative values become operational principles
The environmental values at the heart of Go Go Around Italy are not simply themes explored on screen—they form the ethical foundation of Intergea’s entire production approach. The series celebrates Italy’s landscapes, biodiversity, and cultural richness, inviting young audiences to discover the beauty of the territory and to understand why it deserves care and protection. These same principles guide the company behind the project.
Intergea’s decision to certify the production process with the EcoMuvi GREEN protocol stems from a clear alignment between what the company tells and how the company works. The stories of the series revolve around environmental respect, sustainable habits, and a deep emotional connection to place. For Intergea, translating these messages into concrete operational choices is not an accessory gesture, it is a matter of coherence and responsibility.

THE PROTOCOL AND THE RESULTS
Verifiable, and measurable objectives
The management has defined specific, verifiable, and measurable objectives for the production process of the series Go Go Around Italy, assigning clear responsibilities and implementation timelines, and ensuring that all relevant personnel are informed of these goals.
To support this commitment, the company’s management has identified the following areas of intervention:
-
organization and communication — establishing internal procedures, roles, and information flows that ensure consistent application of sustainability criteria
-
resource management — optimizing the use of materials and services throughout the production cycle
-
resource recovery and waste management — promoting reuse, recycling, and responsible disposal practices
-
energy consumption — monitoring and reducing energy use across production activities and office operations
-
emissions into the atmosphere — limiting emissions from heating, cooling, and mobility through controlled temperature settings and low‑impact commuting

Organization and communication

Each function within the company is assigned clear authority and/or responsibility, along with the necessary resources (human, financial, technical, etc.) required to carry out the activities defined by the sustainability policy.

Within the main production process of the series, personnel may potentially have an environmental impact through behaviors that are not aligned with the company’s commitment to environmental protection and responsible resource management. For this reason, Intergea’s objective is to promote awareness meetings aimed at strengthening staff professionalism, increasing their engagement in achieving company goals, and enhancing their understanding of individual responsibilities regarding environmental protection and the responsible use of resources.
During production, at least one meeting will be held with staff and key suppliers.
To support local talent and vulnerable age groups, Intergea relies on personnel, collaborators, and third‑party companies based in the local area or, more broadly, within the region for various activities (animation, storyboard, etc.). Intergea also promotes internships for young people from training institutions. The company aims to form a team in which at least 60% of members belong to vulnerable categories or are residents of the territory.

The EcoMuvi logo will appear on the final product as established in the contractual agreement.
In addition, Intergea will promote the applied protocol on its website and will make emissions data publicly available. Certification data will be shared with suppliers through communication and feedback processes, accompanied by improvement plans.
Resource management

Resource management refers not only to the use of environmental resources, but also to the responsible handling of equipment and materials, the respect and enhancement of local assets, and the reuse of materials from the previous season, including backgrounds and visual elements.

The company has chosen to manage its direct consumption of equipment and tools by operating within a coworking space, which allows the use of shared facilities, resources, and infrastructure provided by the venue. All computers used by Intergea in this space are rented. Remote work (smart working) is also encouraged.
In the purchasing process, preference is given to sustainable and certified items such as recycled paper and regenerated toner cartridges.

Since part of the core production activities has been entrusted to third‑party companies, and in order to optimize workflows and reduce the indirect impact of travel and resource consumption, one of these companies shares the same coworking space used by Intergea S.r.l.
In line with the core idea of the animated series, the company has chosen to highlight the region hosting the vast majority of the production by dedicating an entire episode to it and by including the municipality of Gravina in Puglia in the opening sequence of every episode. Moreover, because one of the project’s goals is to help children discover Italy’s territories, the production uses photos and videos captured across Italian regions to showcase their cultural and natural heritage. For this purpose, when acquiring digital material, Intergea also obtains the necessary release forms for the use of images in the final product.

The fact that most of the people involved in the production live locally ensures that there are no food-related expenses or waste. To reduce water waste and limit plastic consumption, plastic bottles have been replaced with water dispensers in the workplace. At the end of the production, Intergea aims to ensure that recycled materials account for at least 10% of the total project budget. When accommodation is required, preference is given to apartments, B&Bs, or certified hotels.
Resource recovery and waste management

The direct impact generated by waste management during the production of the series is handled through the municipal separate waste collection system. Waste‑sorting procedures are also addressed during the awareness meetings described in the previous section, ensuring that all staff understand how to dispose of materials correctly.

Regarding equipment, even though the computers used for production are not company‑owned, their maintenance and any resulting waste are managed as WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and handled by an authorized contractor.

Proper waste management is monitored by the Environmental Sustainability Manager.
During production, the following items will be tracked to assess consumption and waste generation:
-
meals consumed in the workplace
-
water dispenser bottles
-
coffee capsules
Energy consumption

Regarding the environmental impact associated with office energy use, the electricity provider guarantees that 42.8% of the energy supplied comes from renewable sources. The workspace is equipped entirely with LED lighting, and all appliances used are of high energy‑efficiency classes. Hardware and software operate in continuity mode to ensure stable performance while maintaining efficient energy use.

Electricity consumption data are monitored through sampling of indirect indicators, allowing the company to track trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
Because the production is primarily digital and concentrated in specific physical locations (Taranto, Gravina, etc.), it does not require travel for filming or on‑set activities. All materials are shared digitally, significantly reducing the need for transportation. Most staff members live within 30 km of the offices and commute on foot or by public transport; those who live farther away car‑share to minimize emissions.
Atmospheric emissions

Atmospheric emissions are primarily linked to the use of heat pumps for winter heating and summer cooling, as well as to transportation. While the maintenance of these systems is the responsibility of the building owner, their activation and shutdown are managed according to outdoor temperatures.

During staff meetings, clear operational thresholds are communicated: heat pumps are switched on when temperatures fall below 18.5°C and are set to reach a maximum indoor temperature of 20°C; in summer, cooling systems are activated only when temperatures exceed 30°C, with a target indoor temperature of 26°C.

Intergea encourages commuting on foot, car‑sharing, and the use of public transport. Private vehicles used for work‑related travel must comply with Euro 6 standards. The Mobility Plan is monitored by the person responsible for implementing the protocol.
